He worked in the departments of Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics and Anesthesia. He obtained his Diploma in Anesthesia in 1983. In 1987 he emigrated to Newfoundland, Canada and worked as a GP Anesthetist in Baie Verte, a small outport on the northern coast of Newfoundland for 18 months. Then he went on to Saskatchewan for almost 5 years and initially worked in the Department of Psychiatry at the University Hospital in Saskatoon. Following this he joined a busy family practice clinic in Melville Saskatchewan where he worked as a GP Anesthetist in partnership with two other surgeons. While in Saskatchewan he qualified as a Civil Aviation Medical Examiner for Transport Canada which allowed him to assess the medical competency of pilots to fly aircraft. He was also appointed as a Medical Examiner for Canadian National Railway, Canada's largest freight railroad company. In 1993 he and his family moved to British Columbia and soon settled in the Lower Mainland where he has worked in the Cloverdale area as a family practitioner for most of this time. He enjoys the great outdoors of British Columbia and when not working he can be found with his wife and daughter out along some of the great biking trails and routes around the lower mainland or perhaps skiing in Mount Seymour. He is a self-taught skier (and it shows!)
